Produced and recorded by Steve Robinson

Recorded by Lindsay Martin with guests, Daniel Glasgow on drums, Mel Wishart on sax and Denise Thomas, David Beniuk and Jen Davis on backing vocals

From 1992 to 1997 Steve performed and recorded primarily as a solo act. 1992 he released a 4 track vinyl entitled A Cast of One recorded by Ed Lee. In 1994 he self produced, recorded and released the album The Porter Street Tapes. Playing all the instruments and recording on a cassette without production effects or mastering the album reached national radio in Australia and College in the US. It was accepted into the Australian National Film and Sound Archives for its originality. In 1997 he repeated the process for the album Between the Dog and Daylight. Comedy of Errors began in about 1983 with David and Steve Robinson sharing guitar, bass and vocals and Mark Callaghan on drums. The band went through 28 line up changes until Steve gave up in 1992. The band released the first CD from their home town of Wollongong which began an independent music industry that still flourishes there today. The single from the CD gained rotation on local commercial radio a feat never before or since achieved by a Wollongong band.

Gigliola Miccoli, Chris Flanagan, Steve Robinson and Jim Sheehan with Enter Stage Left, the first CD release from Wollongong. Apart from gaining rotation on local commercial radio the CD attracted two television news articles. This attention drove an audience to the Oxford Tavern, a local venue Steve initiated and developed from about 1989 with the original Comedy of Errors line up. On any night a crowd of 600 people crammed into the venue licensed for 300. We knew the number as the licensing police counted them. I Don’t Need This was recorded live at the Oxford in 1991 and captures the sound of the packed room. Can’t Take You Anywhere was recorded at the Oxford in 1992 as the last song for the last gig for Comedy of Errors
